Description
To grade the bitumen based on viscosity BIS revised IS-73-1992specifications (Viscosity at 60°C) and as such there are four grades VG-10, VG-20, VG-30 & VG-40. A few qualification tests like specificgravity, water content, ductility, loss on heating &Farass breaking point were removed from IS:73-1992 as these tests do not have any relationship with the performance of the product.
Application
Viscosity Grade Bitumen is widely used in spraying applications such as surface-dressing andpaving in very cold climate. It is also used to manufactureBitumen emulsion and Modified Bitumen products.
